So today’s piece is designated a
little more towards people with my complexion. I apologize to any readers that
might have a different skin tone or undertone then mine. However, just because
I’m saying this is towards people with similar skin tones & undertones to
me, it doesn’t mean that these colors won’t look fabulous on you too! I
recommend all these colors to any girl, they might not according to other
beauty bloggers fit your skin tone or undertone but if you like them and you
feel beautiful wearing them then by all means wear them!
I have naturally pale skin, in the
pictures I am wearing Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in
porcelain. Like I said I'm extremely pale even after trying to tan so much in the summer. So without further ado, here are my top four drugstore
lipsticks for paler &/or cool undertones.
NYX
Cosmetics Round Case Lipstick in Tea Rose
$3.99 - .14oz
This lipstick is described as a “muted plum with cool undertones”. This is by
far my favorite of these lipsticks. I love that this product by NYX has the
perfect amount of glossiness to it that I even think about putting a lip gloss
over it. It is very creamy and rich, which I’ve found a lot of the NYX lip
products are (the exception being the Matte lipsticks so far to me). This is
about a shade or two darker then my natural lip color with a hint more pink, so it’s perfect for a
natural look. If you’re looking for a creamy textured lipstick that isn’t too
glossy nor too matte, I definitely suggest this one.
NYX
Cosmetics Round Case Lipstick in Miracle
$3.99
- .14oz
So I’m kind of cheating because I’m using the same brand twice. However, for
lipsticks that I own multiples of one brand, NYX is the one that I own the most
of. I love how creamy they are and the pigmentation color payoff is fabulous
for a drugstore lipstick. This particular shade is described as “Blue-toned
pink with gold shimmer”. I absolutely love the color and when I’m feeling sassy
this is the color I wear. This is a brighter pink that has a gorgeous gold tone
to it. Normally I wouldn’t pick up a gold toned lipstick because it doesn’t
normally work for my undertones. However, I received this in an Ipsy bag a few
months ago and absolutely loved it. Plus as a hockey fanatic I love the name
(1980 Miracle on Ice anyone?).
Wet’n’Wild
MegaLast Lip Color in Mauve Outta Here/Rose Flamboyant
$1.89
- .11oz
This is my favorite semi-matte/matte lipstick. I also have this lipstick in the
shades Think Pink & Cinnamon Spice, but I prefer this shade to the others.
I actually wasn’t the biggest fan of the other two shades at first. I had tried
them and thought they were drying didn’t move well on my lips. For some reason
I decided to buy this shade and fell in love. That’s when I gave the other two
a second try. The Cinnamon Spice is still a little two dark for my taste but I’ve
found that I can work with the Think Pink a lot better. This one has more of a purple tint then the rest, although it's not nearly as purple as it looks on the picture of it on. I tend to pair this
lipstick with the NYX Butter Gloss in either Créme Brulee or Éclair when I
don’t want a complete matte finish.
NYC Expert Last Lip
Color in Forever Fuchsia
$1.96 - .11oz (I received this
complimentary from influenster.com)
Can I just say that if you are
looking for a bright pink lip color, a true statement lipstick, this is
amazing! This probably has the best pigmentation of any drugstore lipstick I've
tried and even some of the higher-end lipsticks. It is crazy bright and a
little goes a long way. With that being said, there is a downfall to this
lipstick, it’s very drying on the lips. I definitely suggest either a clear lip
gloss over top or a put little bit of lip balm underneath. It’s also in the
middle of Wet’N’Wild and NYX when it comes to how matte it is. This does claim
to last up to 6 hours, and let me tell you this does. At least it does if you
don’t add anything to it.
Final Thoughts:
Like I said these are ones that work
amazing with my skin tone and undertones. These are pretty inexpensive
lipsticks (especially the Wet’n’Wild and NYC lipsticks) and compared to say
Revlon, CoverGirl, or Maybelline even the NYX lipsticks are around $2 cheaper
or more.
I absolutely love the NYX lipsticks; they have a good amount of
pigmentation and are so creamy. My favorite of the two is by far the Tea Rose
as I stated before, it’s perfect for a natural look which is my normal day to
day routine. The Miracle color is great for when I want something bright but
not to the point of it being my statement makeup piece.
I love the Wet’n’Wild lipstick for
when I want a matte lip or something that’s not close to my natural lip color
but looks natural on me. The NYC lipstick is by far my favorite lipstick when I
want a very bold lip. The color payoff is amazing and it seriously lasts for so
long it’s crazy. I’m actually going to the store tomorrow and I will probably
pick up this lipstick but in either the color Red Flamme or Air Kiss.
So I hope you liked this and if you’re
looking for some drugstore lipsticks but aren’t really sure where to start that
this helped you if you’re like me and have a pale complexion. The thing I’ve noticed
about a lot of beauty vloggers/bloggers are that most of them have a nice tan
complexion or if they are pale like me have blonde hair. If you are pale like
me and have brown hair (dark or light) I’d really suggest these! Make sure to
leave a comment down below if there are any inexpensive lipsticks from the
drugstore that you think I should try or what you think about the lipsticks I
mentioned!
♥♥♥,
Aub
