So today I
received an awesome package in the mail… My P&G Gift Basket, aka the
products I won from Influenster.com because I completed the tasks for the
P&G part of my VoxBox.
If you don’t know what Influenster is, it’s a
website where you can review & read reviews of different products ranging
from beauty to food. On top of that you can become an expert in different
categories. Every month Influenster does different voxboxes, which are
complimentary boxes filled with different products. They select who receives
them based on what you’re an expert in, then they send out an email to those
who they feel have qualified and you take a survey. A few weeks later if you’ve
been chosen they will send you an email to let you know. You’ll then receive
the products in the mail (this can take a couple days to a few weeks normally).
You review the products and complete the tasks and often you’re given the
chance to win a prize from the brand.
So far I
personally have received three voxboxes. The first was the Uni VoxBox and the
second was the Surf’s Up VoxBox and the last was an Ebay VoxBox. This is the
first time though that I’ve one a brand specific prize after completing tasks.
So without further ado, the products I received and my first impressions (&
prior impressions).
I’ve based the prices on what they
cost at Walmart. The exception is the Secret Deodorant because the price is not
listed on the website, so I used a similar product by the brand
1. Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer With Sunscreen SPF 15
Combination/Oily Skin
$8.94 – 6oz (Full Sized)
I don’t
know if I’ve ever tried an Olay moisturizer before, I’m certain that I have but
that I borrowed it from my mom back in high school. I’m really hoping this is
better than the L’Oreal moisturizer. I really do want to find a good drugstore
moisturizer. I love that this is for Combination/Oily Skin because currently that’s
what my skin is leaning more towards. Can’t wait to give this a try!
2. Venus Snap Razor
$9.47 (Full Sized)
I have used
this razor before but it got dull and actually started to rust a couple weeks
ago. However, this is by far one of my favorite razors ever. I was so used to
using cheap disposable razors (I say cheap not inexpensive because of the
quality) before trying this that I was completely shocked by how much I loved
this. It’s a little awkward to use at first due to the handle and size, but
once you get the hang of it, it’s amazing. I love the size because it’s perfect
for traveling and taking in my bag for when I go to visit my boyfriend. The
fact that it comes with a case to keep it and other products protected is just
an amazing bonus gift to me. I was just about to buy a new one when I received the
email that I would be getting this. So I’ve been forcing myself to use some
cheap ones, and let’s just say I’m not sad to give them to my mom!
3. CoverGirl Bombshell Intensity Eyeliner - 800 Pitch Black
$6.94 - .02oz (Full Sized)
This has a
B+ rating on Influenster.com. I only have one liquid eyeliner and it’s a bright
blue. I’ve been looking for a good drugstore eyeliner because the e.l.f. one I
bought hurt to put on. I have high hopes for this! When I swatched this on my
hand it came out a little liquidy and not as opaque and dark as I would have
liked but it does seem buildable which is good news! I do like the fact that
once it’s dry it does not budge. That’s a definite plus for me.
4. Secret Clinical Strength Completely Clean Invisible Solid
Antiperspiant/Deodorant
$7.92 – 1.6oz (Full Sized)
I’ve tried a
Clinical Strength deodorant before. I didn’t really care for it. It was a
gel-esque formula, the type that squeezes through little holes on the top. It
didn’t last very long and definitely didn’t help my sweaty situation. I’m
excited to give this a try because it is solid form and hope that it works, if
not I’ll be going back to my Suave deodorant. It doesn’t have an overpowering
scent which is nice, because it won’t combat with my perfume.
5. CoverGirl LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm – 270 Cocoa
Twist
$6.94 - .13oz (Full Sized)
I love lip
balms. They are quite possibly my favorite time of lip product. I’ve never tried
CoverGirl’s balms before. I have to say the smell is fairly off-putting. It
smells like really cheap wet ‘n’ wild lipstick did back in the day, kind of a
waxy and plastic combination smell. The color that was given to me is a nude
color that didn’t seem to really change the color on my lips. I do however,
like how it doesn’t feel cakey or awkward on my lips. It’s not sticky and makes
my lips feel nice and smooth. I’ll definitely keep giving it a try but it might
be hard to get past the smell.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I like most of these products so far and am excited
to use most of them. I’d like to thank Influenster and P&G for the
complimentary items. I already know that I love the Venus Snap Razor and am
glad to have a backup. This way I can get new razors for my old one and leave
that at my boyfriend’s apartment. I’m very intrigued by the eyeliner,
deodorant, and moisturizer as such I can’t wait to try them out and see how
they work long term. I will admit I’m not the craziest about the lip balm
simply due to the smell. Like I said I will definitely give these all a go and
in a few weeks I will do a review on how much I like or dislike these products.
♥♥♥,
Aub
p.s: If I had bought all of these I would have spent $40.21 without taxes.
